Wisdom Warrior Challenge is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with a mission to inspire seniors to live an active, healthy lifestyle.
ALL ABOUT WWC!
The Wisdom Warrior Challenge (WWC) is a national event for senior adults aged 50 to 105 years old. The goal of this unique event is to promote physical activity and engagement and dispel the myths about aging as related to the ability to remain active.
Thanks to our generous sponsors, the WWC is FREE to all participating communities and senior adult participants.
Individual communities will choose a date in April to host their event and host encouraging training sessions throughout the year leading up to the main event. All athletes receive stocked swag-bags, apparel and most importantly - they are recognized for their performance at their local event with an awards ceremony!
At the conclusion of the month, all team scores will be submitted to rank the athletes for their overall performance in the event, as well as recognition of the overall winning community!
This month-long celebration culminates with a final National Awards Ceremony to be held at the overall community winner. The Ceremony is live-streamed across the internet with all participating communities, fans, friends and volunteers in attendance to celebrate all of our fantastic super seniors!
WHY WE DO THIS!
The less we move, the more at risk we are for so many detrimental and life-changing diseases including cancer, obesity, diabetes and premature death.
Prior to 2020, there was a significant drop in the overall physical activity of senior adults over the age of 65 years old. And unfortunately, the pandemic has only served to compound the threat with seniors spending even more time sedentary.
But the good news is - it all comes down to lifestyle choices and the solution is within our control!
